Award-winning renowned Head Chef Mark Greenaway has received acclamation nationwide following the opening of Restaurant Mark Greenaway at No.12 Picardy Place in February 2011, in January 2012 mark was the only Scottish chef to be newly awarded 3 Rosettes from the AA for his outstanding cuisine.

The ‘Rising Star Chef of the Year’s’ modern style of cooking with a traditional twist is confident and assured, using only the best local and seasonal produce. Mark’s menus are always intriguing and presentation is clean as well as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate.

 Beginning his career in Scotland in 1992, Mark gained success throughout the UK and Australia. Working his way up through the ranks across the globe he has distinguished himself, and the restaurants he's worked at, gaining plaudits in every appointment.  

In 2011, established Chef Mark Greenaway launched his first ever signature restaurant in Scotland's culinary capital.  Based in central Edinburgh, fine-dining Restaurant Mark Greenaway is one of the most exquisite dining experiences in Scotland. Set in a Georgian town house at No.12 Picardy Place the 70 seated restaurant hosts two private dining rooms, catering for 10 and 20 guests, respectively.  Mark's signature style has elevated the reputation of No.12 Picardy Place to a whole new level, achieving a number of awards and outstanding reviews across the board since opening last year

 

Mark is to feature in this year’s BBC Two series Great British Menu.

The Challenge: to cook for The Olympic Feast

Great British Menu is back on BBC TWO at 7.30pm every week day from Monday 9th April 2012.

Watch out for mark from Restaurant Mark Greenaway on BBC TWO’s popular series Great British Menu.  Mark is competing in the Scottish regional heat which transmits from Monday to Friday from April 9th at 7.30pm on BBC TWO. 

This year’s challenge is to create a ground-breaking menu fit for Olympic heroes; celebrating the arrival of the London 2012 Olympics and demonstrating the extraordinary Olympian heights the talented chefs can reach.

Mark is one of twenty four of the country’s finest chefs competing for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a world-beating four course menu at a prestigious event at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. British Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave will host the gala event with a glittering guest list of British sporting greats.

For Mark to make it to the national finals they must get past  veteran Judge Jeremy Lee and then face the Great British Menu judging panel, Oliver Peyton, Prue Leith and Matthew Fort in the regional final.
