Today I helped launch the Blooming Great Tea Party campaign, on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The initiative encourages people to host a tea party in their home, workplace, community centre...anywhere really and raise some funds for a great cause. Money can be raised in many ways from charging a fee at the door, to selling cakes or even inviting along a beautician and offering beauty treatments. The funds donated will help Marie Curie continue to support those with terminal illness through nursing and day-care facilities.
My tea party was held at Restaurant Mark Greenaway, as 40 guests joined me for tea and cakes. The guests included volunteers, charity workers, nurses and a few select competition winners who all had a great time. The afternoon also included many great talks from guests such as Philippa Woodcock (Edinburgh Hospice) and Allan Mackay (Senior Volunteer) who explained why the money raised is vital to them.
Tea was supplied by eteaket, local leaf tea experts who I got on board to show the different ways tea can be used.
If you would like to hold you own tea party, download the fundraising pack which has all the info you need.
