Mark to Present Masterclass at Hopetoun Farm Shop
On Thursday the 10th of July Mark will present a cooking master-class at Hopetoun Farm Shop, with no idea what ingredients he will have.
The master-class is part of Marks campaign to tour Scotland and discover its best-kept secret ingredient with Eat Drink Discover Scotland. Mark is inviting the public to tell him which ingredient they rely on to make their dish extra special. The best and most intriguing dishes will then be chosen and the finalists will be invited along to cook their dish with Mark at the Eat Drink Discover show in September. Next week he will be touring Edinburgh and the Lothians, and has been asked to stop off at Hopetoun House. For more information on the competition, click here.
Mark will turn up to the master-class empty handed and has instead given the public the power as he let's them choose the ingredients. The chef will then prepare dishes using only his imagination, hopefully inspiring the guests. This is a great opportunity not only to try out some of the ingredients Hopetoun House offers, but also to test Mark as you can even bring along your own secret ingredient from the Edinburgh and Lothian's region. The Farm Shops expert butcher will be on hand to offer advice on meat cuts, quantities and recipes.
Mark said: “It’s all too easy to keep using the same ingredients for the same dishes, so this competition is all about discovering new ingredients and new ways of using them. I’m looking forward to exploring the larder at Hopetoun Farm Shop and to using their award winning ingredients to make some of my favourite dishes - but I also want others to follow suit and to be inspired to share their favourites with me. This is what food and cooking should be about with Scotland’s truly amazing larder. “
