What an exciting year already!
2018 has already brought a whole host of awards and accolades to the restaurant, and this month has been no different!
At the end of April, Mark won Best Chef in the inaugural Edinburgh Evening News Restaurant Awards. Just a few weeks later, at the Scottish Food Awards in Edinburgh, Mark fought off stiff competition to win Edinburgh Chef of the Year 2018. As well as this recognition for our food, Nicola was also awarded a Hospitality Honour award, for services to hospitality in Edinburgh - what a fantastic night for the restaurant!
It takes a great team to deliver a great dining experience and we are all very proud to be part of this.
It's always a great experience for Mark to go and cook in a different kitchen. He took one of his younger chefs with him to give them the experience of working in another country, where they really didn't know for sure what produce they would have to work with when they arrived, or what the team would be like that would be working with them.
The experience was quite something, with images of the dishes from the 6 course menu that Mark had created for them being projected up through special tables brought in for the event.
